Other Initiatives

Mango Seed Collection Drive 2024
Our innovative Mango Seed Donation Drive, in partnership with WHEELS Global Foundation, transforms discarded mango seeds into sustainable farmer livelihoods.
Since May 2024, communities across India have donated 10 lakh seeds, which we process into 1 lakh mango trees benefiting 8,000-10,000 farmers in West Bengal and Jharkhand. While market saplings cost ₹50- ₹200, our seed-to-tree process delivers them to farmers at just ₹5 each.

Rural Eye Care Camp 2025
Our Community Eye Care Initiative addressed the critical healthcare gap in rural Sundarbans.
In partnership with Priyamvada Birla Eye Foundation and Purvanchal Kalyan Ashram, we provide complete vision care – from free eye check-ups and spectacle distribution to fully-funded cataract surgeries at specialized hospitals in Kolkata.
Our recent camp in Jeliakhali served 150+ villagers, with 20 patients receiving free cataract surgery.
In regions where accessing quality healthcare often requires travelling hours to the city, our camps bring eye care directly to village doorsteps.

World Environment Day 2025
During World Environment Day 2025, we set an ambitious goal of constructing 200 rainwater harvesting ponds – and exceeded it by building 230 ponds across West Bengal (187 in the Sundarbans and 43 in Nayagram).
Each 20ft x 20ft x 10ft pond serves multiple families, creating opportunities for fish farming and ensuring water availability year-round.
We truly believe: “We can achieve whatever we put our mind to.” This success reflects the collaborative spirit of our villagers, donors, and dedicated team working together to build climate-resilient communities across rural Bengal.

Sapling Plantation Drive 2025
Our 2025 plantation season launched successfully in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, with 2,786 fruit tree saplings planted as our first batch – including Betel Nut (1,048), Mango (598), Coconut (427), Lemon (209), Jujube (194), Banana (183), and Guava (127) saplings.
This initiative goes beyond distribution. It plants seeds of hope for sustainable futures and economic empowerment. Working alongside farming communities and witnessing their commitment to nurturing these saplings reinforces why service is the most beautiful form of giving.
These carefully selected fruit varieties will provide decades of nutrition and income while contributing to healthier ecosystems and climate resilience.

Gram Yatra
Our Gram Yatra program connects urban volunteers with rural communities through meaningful experiences that combine learning with social impact.
Over 600 participants have joined these experiential trips to witness our initiatives firsthand. Volunteers engage directly with villagers through interactive sessions, gaining an understanding of their challenges while celebrating community successes.
These sustainable visits adhere to eco-friendly practices and prioritise genuine engagement. The program serves dual purposes: educating urban participants about rural realities while providing moral support to farming communities, creating lasting bonds that strengthen our mission of rural prosperity.

Eco-Brick & Waste Management Initiative
Our waste management program empowers rural communities to tackle plastic pollution.
We conducted specialized training sessions with Gram Vikas Shikshikas in the ecologically sensitive Sundarbans region, focusing on practical waste segregation, plastic repurposing, and environmental protection strategies tailored for coastal communities.
Through hands-on workshops, participants learned to transform plastic waste into useful eco-bricks for construction and community infrastructure, creating practical solutions that address both waste management and local building needs.
Environmental education can drive meaningful change, protecting fragile ecosystems while meeting community development goals.

Celebrate With Trees
We help you transform life’s special moments into lasting impact.
Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or honour departed loved ones by donating fruit trees in their name.
Each tree planted supports needy farmers while creating a living memorial to your occasion.
We share your thoughtful gesture on social media, spreading awareness and inspiring others to join this beautiful tradition of giving.

The exhibition enabled meaningful conversations with potential funders and corporate partners while educating urban audiences about our integrated approach to rural transformation through sustainable farming, renewable energy, and water conservation.

ABIF IIT Kharagpur Incubation Initiative
Incubated by Premier Agricultural Innovation Hub
Gram Samriddhi Foundation was incubated by the Agri Business Incubation Foundation (ABIF) IIT Kharagpur, a NABARD-funded institution supporting innovative agripreneurs. This incubation provided us with technical expertise, research backing, and strategic guidance to develop our integrated rural development model.
Through ABIF’s support, we refined our approach to sustainable agriculture, gaining access to cutting-edge research and agricultural innovations from IIT Kharagpur’s ecosystem. This partnership strengthened our scientific foundation and scalability potential across rural communities.
Go-Kripa Amritam Natural Farming
Gram Samriddhi Foundation proudly partnered with renowned natural farming expert Shri Gopalbhai Sutariya to introduce Go-Kripa Amritam-based natural farming techniques to West Bengal farmers.
This initiative combines traditional cow-based agriculture with scientific methods, using specially prepared organic solutions derived from cow products to enhance soil fertility and crop productivity.
Shri Gopalbhai’s expertise in Go-Kripa Amritam methodology provided our farmers with advanced knowledge of creating powerful bio-inputs using cow dung, urine, and other natural ingredients. These techniques dramatically reduce input costs while improving soil health and crop yields, aligning perfectly with our zero-cost natural farming mission.

Tree Conclave
Gram Samriddhi Foundation organised a prestigious “Conclave on Fruit Tree Plantation for Farmers’ Prosperity & Improved Environment” on January 15, 2023, at Rabindranath Tagore Centre, ICCR, Kolkata.
The conclave was graced by Chief Guest Shri Dharmendra Pradhan (Cabinet Minister) and attended by hundreds of stakeholders, creating a powerful platform for discussing sustainable agricultural development.
The event honoured dedicated tree donors who contributed to farmer welfare while facilitating expert discussions on integrating environmental conservation with rural economic growth.
A landmark gathering that united policymakers, donors, and practitioners in advancing sustainable rural development through environmental stewardship.

Heritage School Environmental Awareness
Gram Samriddhi Foundation conducted an impactful environmental awareness campaign at The Heritage School, Kolkata, educating hundreds of students about sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
Through interactive presentations and engaging discussions, we shared the importance of tree plantation, organic farming, and nature conservation with the next generation of environmental champions.
The campaign featured student participation sessions, Q&A interactions, and distribution of educational materials.

Tailoring Training Initiative
Gram Samriddhi Foundation successfully completed a comprehensive 4-month tailoring training course for rural women empowerment, equipping participants with valuable vocational skills for sustainable income generation.
The program provided hands-on training in garment construction, pattern making, and entrepreneurship skills to enable women to establish independent tailoring businesses or join the textile workforce.
The course included practical training on business management basics and market linkage support to ensure participants can effectively monetise their newly acquired skills.

Natural Dhoop Making Initiative
In Chauka Pathara village, Nayagram, West Bengal, Gram Samriddhi Foundation conducted hands-on workshops teaching rural women to create natural dhoop (incense) using cow dung – transforming what’s often considered waste into valuable income-generating products.
Our trainers guided local farmers and women through traditional techniques that produce 100% natural air purifiers while creating steady household income streams.
This initiative revives ancient wisdom while addressing modern needs – the natural dhoop acts as an effective air purifier, reduces chemical pollution, and provides economic empowerment to rural women.

Bioenzyme Workshop
Gram Samriddhi Foundation, in collaboration with Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, West Bengal, conducted a transformative bioenzyme workshop for 40 tribal women from Purulia, Bankura, Medinipur, and Hooghly districts.
Participants learned to create powerful natural cleaners and soil enhancers using simple kitchen waste like citrus peels, jaggery, and water – turning everyday discards into valuable household and agricultural solutions.
The workshop demonstrated multiple applications of bioenzymes: natural floor cleaning, soil nourishment for farming, and livestock wound treatment.
